I’m Norvell King, a sculptor and clay illustration artist; and the owner of King Studios. Like most artist, I grew up loving to draw and I was fascinated with comic books and fantasy art. Art is different for everyone. It is unique, as each person is unique. I spent countless hours drawing and to this day, I am still heavily influenced by artist such as John Buscema, Gene Colan, Neal Adams, and Frank Frazetta. It’s my intention to create art that I love with the hope you may enjoy it also.
King Studios was established with the purpose of providing creative sculpture and other fine art representing fantasy, mythological, and wild-life subject renderings; as well as military, historical and other topics for your enjoyment.

“RECON NAM”
Faux bronze (resin) sculpture commemorates the sacrifice and contributions of reconnaissance, surveillance, and special mission units during the Viet Nam War.
“INDIGENY”
Joining the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, I was fortunate to travel the world and visit many countries on four continents. My exposure to different cultures and the many people I met was priceless and it helped to form my view of the world. While on liberty in Spain I discovered some of the most beautifully sculpted porcelain figurines created by the Lladro Company. I was so impressed with the exquisite styling and the delicateness conveyed in the figures’ poses, I wanted to emulate their style. In my leisure, I found myself experimenting with sculpting, using bars of soap to create miniature African style masks and my own figurines. It’s unfortunate I no longer have those early sculptures, but I had to shower to stay clean.
